Just realized I've never formally introduced this plugin, which is strange since I'm quite proud of the little fellow.
Get-a-Post lets you specify a post, and now a Page, to be displayed. With it you can place an informational note on a sidebar or a "static" article at the top of a category page (or within a custom template), letting you customize how it's displayed by using standard WordPress template tags.

R1.1 of Get-a-Post now caches post-meta (custom field) data of the post or Page, for use by other plugins or WP's the_meta() tag. This version is released under an explicit GPL license.

Kaf can you given an example of it's use. I mean if I had a static image site somewhere from which I wanted to grab to place into a WP Page, is this that sort of thing we're talking here?

This is a way of adding a post to your sidebar (as a dynamic about) or perhaps a welcome post outside the loop somewhere.

Jinsan: Some examples of use are provided at the link above, but it may help to think of Get-a-Post as a single post (or Page) loop where you specify the exact post (or Page) you wish displayed. The original idea behind it was to provide a "sticky post" solution that lets you implement whichever template tags you want.
