   Is there a way to set it so a 300x250 adblock is added to a post as soon as its published?

   Afraid not. You can add the tag into the post [ad#name] but there is currently now way to do this automatically.

   Development of the ad plugin has now moved to Advertising Manager. Hopefully we'll be able to add automatic ad placements in the near future.

   Umm yes there is. you can add it to your template and it will add it automatically. usually right before the content tag.
