I have a client who wants a WordPress blog, but he registered his domain through Google. I’ve never registered anything through them, so I’m not sure if I can install WP on the site, which I believe is hosted by enom.com.

If it IS possible, I have a second question.

My client is not at all tech-savvy, and I’m certain he won’t be able to do anything complex. I’ll have to install myself. How can I connect via FTP to a Google-registered domain? Will he have a separate login and password for the site that I can use to FTP in, or do I have to ask for his Google login? I don’t want to do that because I consider that private…

    Thanks for your help!

  • Domain registration and domain hosting are two different things. So you should be able to get domain hosting somewhere besides Google, then point your domain name servers to that host’s name servers.

At that point you will need to ask the new hosting company about the FTP connection info.
