I’ve hard WP for about a month now and it has been problem free. Before WP, I had b2 for about a year. I’ve never had something like this happen in the past. I contacted my host and they said they couldn’t help. Can someone at least give me an idea of what has happened to my site? It’s nothing I have done because I haven’t even updated all week long.

Please help 🙁 I don’t want to lose everything.

  • Database error: [Got error 28 from table handler]

That is a HOST problem, nothing to do with you, wordpress or anything else. They need to sort that out.

Im no expert but it looks to me that something is wrong with the file cookiecheck.php, have you checked the lines 15, 16 and 17. Have you altered the file recently ?

    The top line is this
“Database error: [Got error 28 from table handler]”

    First, back up your database.

Error 28 is a mysql problem, and not that of WordPress. [http://tinyurl.com/4nnxy] It may be that the database drive has run out of space. If you are running on a linux machine, try running df -h at the $ prompt to see if any drive doesn’t have enough space (usually the one with /var or /tmp) and bring that to the attention of your host. If everything has enough space, try a repair table from phpmyadmin or the shell.

Thanks for the speedy responses. I forwarded the excerpt from the WP Wiki regarding the Error 28 to my hosting provider and they patched things up! Whew, I was really scared…

    yippee nice work guys 😛
