• this will insert spam in your site!!!!

you will spend hours removing the spam links this “developer” will inject into your blog.

several other plugins provide this functionality without the spam.

  • It is not spam, it clearly says that a sponsor link will be inserted every in every 5th post. If you don’t like that don’t use it. No other plugins to the extras like following relevant followers and getting people to follow you back and pinging the twitter statuses. These and the future features take time and effort to develop and I’m sure many people would gladly accept 1 link per 5 posts in exchange for the functionality.
The next release which will be in the next day or two will make the sponsored twitter post optional and add features like direct messaging

hese and the future features take time and effort to develop and I’m sure many people would gladly accept 1 link per 5 posts in exchange for the functionality.

I disagree wholeheartedly. It is spam pure and simple. One link, maybe…

can we just ban this pos?

@eeikbon, we all understand you want to make a few bucks with this terrible spamming plugin, but the way you prefered to do this few $ is just wrong. People will remark you as scumm of the wordpress industry and your career as plugin developer will just end at the very begining.

“** A sponsor link will be included in every 5th post/tweet to help the future development of this plugin and other useful plugins. The sponsored tweet can be disabled on the settings page by un-checking the “Allow Sponsor Tweet” checkbox”

    …this checkbox never works!!!

Make sure to update the plugin and make it spamfree…soty i cant call your plugin is placing “sponsor link”. My site is about iphones and i get some “sponsor links” for pregnancy or some pills…that sucks. You have come to great idea with this plugin, and this is only the begining…it wont take a longer than a day to rebuild your plugin in something more advanced and spamfree…then plugin users will just forget about you…think about this !!

    Ban this plugin!

I remove and they still continues made SPAM!

I agree this is not cool at all. I feel there should be some kind of voting system for plugins on the WordPress.org site.

AAHHH! I couldn’t figure out why there were all these posts about pregnancy and baby crap appearing in my twitter account and then a little google search shows this plugin is nothing more than a spam injector. The developer even has an account at BlackHatWorld (repeat BLACK-HAT-WORLD!) where he announces this!

Is there any reason this thing hasn’t been pulled from the WordPress repository? Even though the user has the “option” to disable the spam posts, it continues to post them anyway!

@samboll: You are one of the moderators here and i don’t see you addressing any of the key elements of the discussion. From what i have read (fortunately I read before installing) the concern here is 1) the plugin has a box to uncheck that disallows the “spam” i.e. “sponsored links” every 5 tweets, THAT DOESN’T WORK! Have you done any independent testing to insure that it does? 2) after removal of the “spam plugin” the spam continues! Have you done any independent testing to confirm or refute this? It seems to me that, as a wordpress representative, YOU should be the one to address this and you haven’t. Thus, the larger question in my mind is: “Is WordPress so hardup for kickbacks that they are succumbing to a low wherein they care little about the well-being of their bloggers and their time spent undoing messes?

Have you done any independent testing to confirm or refute this? It seems to me that, as a wordpress representative, YOU should be the one to address this and you haven’t.

Just because the word “moderator” is under my name is like “janitor” to IBM. I’m here to do housekeeping – that I answer support questions is purely voluntary on my part and is not the reason I am a “moderator”.
Testing a plugin would be purely as a wordpress user – nothing more as I do not represent wordpress in this manner.
My suggestion would be to do as others and report this plugin to wordpress as I would do as a user.
Basically, you need to go higher up the food chain.
