Setup Dev Environment on Windows XP / 2003

Hi,

I need to set up a wordpress development environment (for testing PHP code change on localhost etc…) on either a Windows XP machine, or Windows 2003 Machine.
I guess I would also need
Apache
MySql
PHP
for settting this up.

Can anyone point me to a handy guide or blog post that explains this in detail ? I saw WAMP – http://www.wampserver.com/en/presentation.php – but am not sure if this is the way to go because I read in another blog post that latest PHP version (5+) won’t work on Windows 2003 / XP, is that right ?
