[Plugin: HeadSpace2] Different Titles for Posts and Pages? (7 posts)

Hello all! I'm webmaster of Zelda Universe (http://www.zeldauniverse.net/), and we power our entire site with Wordpress - and now, with Headspace instead of the All-in-One SEO Pack.

A great feature of the All-in-One SEO Pack is that you can define specific titles for posts and pages, because they act differently from one another. However, Headspace does not include this option. Why?

This option is incredible important if I want to, say, display the category of a post - but a page does not have a category! So if my title structure is:

    %%category%% » %%title%% - %%sitename%% - All the Zelda info you need!

Then pages will contain an extra "»" in their title because they never have a category associate with them, like so:

» Ocarina of Time - Zelda Universe - All the Zelda info you need!

My question: Is there already a feature that allows you to de-link the connected titles of posts and pages in Headspace, and if not can I make a humble feature request for such an option? ;)

HeadSpace does include this option. Just enable the title module and then define titles for each page as you see fit.

ZU has hundreds of pages and posts - it would be tedious to have to individually name every page. I want page titles to follow a set of guidelines.

The ability to name individual page titles is *not* the feature I'm looking for.

You can set titles for individual posts, pages, categories, as well as groups (all posts, all archives, everything etc). See the HeadSpace page for more details

I'm aware of this, but you don't seem to be gripping that this is not what I want to do.

I want to be able to define a dynamic title template for pages the same way I do for posts and other types of content through Headspace. I do not want to set static titles, and I do not want to change pages individually. This is a hassle. I don't want to mass-edit pages, which would make semipermanent changes to their data. I'm looking for a non-destructive, easily changed, formatable title for pages in the spirit of the other formatable titles in Headspace.

No, I don't seem to be gripping what you want. Feature requests for HeadSpace can be made through the feature tracker

    I've posted a feature request :)

Hopefully I've made the feature request clear enough.
