  • i noticed there are several occurences of magpie-related rss in the wp_options db table, named rss_[a random hash]

is wordpress producing them and forgetting to erase them as appropriate? or is a plugin doing this?

  • It’s generated by the rss aggregation stuff in the Dashboard. Not sure if it’s writing updates over them or forgetting to remove them or what, though.

i suspect it is forgetting to remove them.

    They’re supposed to be there.

    ~10 of them?

In one of the blogs I host my options table has grown upto 16.4 MB while the posts table is 9.7 MB. I did further analysis and found out that the the rows taking maximum space start with rss_ . In all there are a total of 727 rows containing rss_ stuff while the total number of rows is 847 in the options table.

Obviously magpie rss related are taking a lot of space. Is this a desired behavious of something is broken somewhere. Is there anything I can do to reduce the size of the table.

    Cheers

I am having the same problem. The options table is taking a lot more space than my actual posts.
