I tried to upgrade to 2.5.1 and of course did not shutdown plug ins so my upgrade database hangs permanently to my disgrace.
I figured I could go back in and replace the original files from 2.5 I uploaded on April 11,2008 but the RC version is confusing. What RC should I use for that date?

maybe this will not work but I thought replacing the original files would help. The next thing sowwould be to restore the database which seems quite complicated.
If it is the plugins causing your problem, then just download the contents of the plugin directory to your computer as a backup, and then delete the contents of the plugin directory on your web host.
