• I am new to weblogging, so I am still learning. I have learned how to get a picture from my PC on to a Post, but all I have been able to do so far with Comments is provide a link to my album in Photobucket to show a picture. I would really like to get the actual pictures from my PC on to my Comments page, just as I do for a Post page, but I cannot find any facility to enable me to do this on the Write Comment page as there is with the Write Post page.

Can someone please help me? If you want to see what I mean, you can go to my Weblog by clicking on http://pen4god.e4god.com/wordpress/

    Thank you in eager anticipation.

    Every blessing

HELP! HELP! HELP! I AM STILL DESPERATELY WAITING FOR AN ANSWER – IS ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO CAN HELP ME? PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!

    HI there,
I am new to all this too, and so unable to offer any advice. I’ve noticed that it often takes a while before someone can reply to posts. However I know that there are folk on two other forums (or is that fora?) who use WP. Perhaps you would find advise there, I had looked to see if it is possible to PM the sites but not sure it can be done, so here they are… http://www.dotdragnet.com and http://www.netmag.co.uk

    Cheers
    Andrew

Thanks, Andrew – I’ll try the two sites you suggest. In the meantime, does anyone else have anything to say?

Some simple searching turned up this plugin: Comment Images

BTW, begging for an answer and bolding text (makes it seems like you are yelling) within your post is very rude and will deter rather than encourage people to help you. Just try to be patient and also do a little research on your own.

    Message for unixgolf.

I logged on to Comment Images and downloaded the zip file.

The instructions were to unzip the files and upload them to the WordPress plugins folder. This is where I came unstuck. I could find no way of doing this upload. The unzipped folder is now sitting on my PC’s desktop.

I am not shouting begging or bolding, but I am asking very quietly in a whisper – what steps must I take to upload this folder to the WordPress plugins folder?

I look forward to receiving your help. Thanks.

Ok, #1 You need to understand the concepts of FTP, which it doesn’t look like you do. But here is a very good link that explains the whole plugin process, again I just did a little searching in the documentation.

#2 You are shouting and begging, your 2nd post in this thread is as follows:

HELP! HELP! HELP! I AM STILL DESPERATELY WAITING FOR AN ANSWER – IS ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO CAN HELP ME? PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!

If that is not “shouting” (at least in terms of the internet)I’ll be a monkey’s uncle. The text is in all bold and all uppercase. This is not a very “quiet whisper”. I am not saying this to critique you personally, I am just saying if you would like people’s help, this isn’t the way to go about it.

    Good luck to you.

    A message for unixgolf

I did a bit of searching in documentation myself and came up with the answer why I cannot upload this Comment Images program into my plugins folder!

    This is what I discovered:

    Uploading Images to Comments

If you would like to give your visitor the ability to upload images along with their comment, I have developed a separate WordPress plugin that accomplishes that.

Want to see what it’s like? Check out a demo here.

This plugin is now available for purchase online. It costs $97 and will be sent to you electronically immediately after you purchase it.

Why isn’t it free? It is a highly customized solution. It took a long time to develop and you’re also paying for my time.

So I guess I’m still searching.

PS – The item in bold is not shouting but emphasising what I discovered on the author’s website!

    Further comment from me!

I am very surprised that WordPress itself has not programed this facility into their system. What do others think?

I am done with you, you don’t want to listen or do any amount of the work yourself, if you want somebody to do it for you, be willing to pay for it and advertise that, otherwise listen and be patient.

I wish you best of luck in finding what you need and I hope you are able to come up with a solution. The community on this board is awesome with helping those who are willing to help themselves a little bit.

    I am out……….

Good bye – I didn’t realise contributors to this site could be so rude!
