Come on, give me a hint please…
Ok, it seems I’m the only one being confused about the missing list of uploaded files and the meaning of thumbnails.
What a pity. Thats truly a missing piece in this good tool. Btw: Does anybody know the progress of including the smarty-engine?

webicus,
Is this part of a hack? If it’s somebody’s hack, then maybe your answer would best be found by asking the hack author.
Also, you are using a thread that you started about an image preview question to ask about Smarty integration…you’ll have better results if you ask a new question rather than bringing up new topics within another thread.
You can see what you’ve uploaded by browsing to the location on your site where you uploaded the image to. In fact, when you upload a file it gives you the img tag that you need to display it in your site, so you can easily copy and past the web address from that into your browser.
Why do you need a list of everything you’ve uploaded anyways? Can’t you simply look at it through whatever ftp program you upload your site files with?
Thumbnails are used in case you want a small image to be in your blog post and then have it linked to the original size image for viewing.
@mdv
Thanks for your answer! Thought I missed a hidden button.
So WP just don’t have an image-handling right now. Sure, I
can browse via FTP or make a copy of the images-folder on
my local harddisc. But it <i>can</i> be done with a browser only.
The feature I thought WP has can be tested here:
http://www.opensourcecms.com/serendipity/serendipity_entries.php
Login/PW: admin/demo
After login click on »Add images«, then after uploading click on
»manage images«. Go to »New entry«. Theres an »image« button
right next to the »img« button which is equal to WPs. THATS the
piece I was searching for in WP. Now things are much clearer, thanks.
Aggree, the forum »requests« had been a much better place ; )
