Transparent png files don't view properly in Explorer 6 (4 posts)

This is a beautiful theme! However, for viewers using MS Explorer 6, the lovely transparent images turn into gray/blue boxes. Not so attractive. You can resolve this issue by using the widget Wp-UnitPNGfix instead of the behavior: url(iepngfix.htc); that is currently part of the img tag in the theme's CSS.

However, because the header and footer are repeating png files, which you don't want to be affected by the powerful Wp-UnitPNGfix, you'll want to change them to gif files for the theme to view properly (they don't make use of transparency, so the png format is not necessary).

There are ways other than a plugin.

I had looked at supersleight as well, but chose the WP plug-in based on this review: http://www.cssgirl.com/resources/2008/08/09/ie6-png-fixes-supersleight-unit-png-fix/

I tried both solutions myself, and ended up, like cssgirl, going with the plug-in.

I was able to get the WP plugin to work quickly, whereas supersleight wouldn't respond after my initial attempts to place the js file properly in my site's root folder, and place the superslight js code properly in the head tag.

The plug-in seemed like an easier fix for non-developer types, like myself.

i tried supersleight and got it working, but couldn't get it to plug in to wordpress, ended up going with the UnitPNGfix plugin. it works on background repeat and worked immediately. no contest.
