• Yesterday I could upload, today I can’t. The big thing I did between then and now is I moved my copied index.php & htaccess to the root from a sub-folder. (So my WP now starts at http://www.tracyandcarol.com instead of http://www.tracyandcarol.com/the_tracy_times.) Today when I tried uploading files I get the following error…

The uploaded file could not be moved to /var/www/the_tracy_times/wp-content/uploads/2009/02.

Anybody have an idea of what might be the problem.

Thanks (again) samboll. I can upload images and other files just fine now. What I see is occurring now is that a thumbnail is being created for the images, but not for other file types. (PDF, HTML, etc.)

I have the same problem. My wordpress files are in a subfolder and index.php is in the root. When everything was in the root, it worked fine, now after moving it I get the upload error. I have double checked the uploads path in Misc settings and it didn’t work. What else could be the problem after moving WordPress into a subfolder?

    Would really appreciate some advice.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Assign 755 recursive permissions to wp-content folder and reset the upload path from wordpress admin area.

If problem not solved then provide the exact error message.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.
