Sidebar Widget/Plugin for displaying news links (non-RSS)

I’m building a site for a client who needs to manually add 5 links every day from various news sites. I guess I could simply use a generic text widget and have the client add the story title and links directly in the code, but that is not optimal. The client doesn’t know HTML and they could easily mess things up.

Is there a simple widget where the client could use the dashbaord and simply input the news story Titles and Links and have that populate on the sidebar?

I’m thinking there should be many ways to do this.
