Upgrading on Yahoo (2 posts)

I have not yet set up my blog and will first upgrade the Wordpress software on Yahoo. My questions:
    1) as I have no content on the site yet and should things go terribly wrong I could always "deactivate" the blog and start over, is there a reason to do a backup before launching into the upgrade?

    2) Are there any Yahoo-related installation issues not covered in the extensive and very helpful Wordpress upgrade instructions?

Thank you in advance for your help. I've been through the forum and haven't found answers to these questions. My apologies if this has already been covered.

    cheers, wb

    1. In theory it never hurts to have a backup of both your files and database. See WordPress Backups. Besides, it's something you need to do routinely.

    2. Yahoo is not on the Core_Update_Host_Compatibility list so when it comes time to upgrade, which should not be necessary until 2.7.2 gets released, you may need to follow the Upgrading WordPress instructions.
