Regardless of when a comment is submitted -or- when it’s approved, the time stamp is 51 minutes off the correct time. Not an even 1-hour increment, but 51 minutes.

The Admin panel is set correctly for -6 UTC. Still…51 minutes?

My host company says the server time is correct and that this has to be a WP problem. Please advise, as I’m concerned about the accuracy of timing on queued posts that need to appear on schedule (assuming the same clock dictates those as the comments).

It’s not the time zone that’s the problem; if it was, the time would be off by an even hour increment. My issue is that time is off by a weird 51 minutes.

Changing time zones will only make it +1:51, -1:51, etc. rather than get the :51 back in line (unless I’ve completely misunderstood the plugin description).

Hi again, I thought I’d had this conversation before 🙂
    interesting question.

Your hosting company is wrong. If it’s off by 51 minutes, then the server time is incorrect.

Go to the Settings->General page. On the timezone adjustment section, you’ll see a couple of times listed. The “UTC” one is the server time, and it should be set to the standard global time (Greenwich Mean Time). The other one is the time plus the timezone adjustment you’ve selected, and it should be your current time.

The point being that this page shows the time there in real time. The times it shows are “now”. Check to see if it is correct. If it is not correct, then the host is simply flat-out wrong, because those times reflect the times that the web server thinks it is. WordPress doesn’t make any adjustment there other than the -6 or whatever you have it set to.
