   Okay, i hope i ask this question clearly enough.

   I have thousands of text files, that contain keywords for different topics.

   I want to create a wordpress site that allows visitors to have access to them.

   I want to create some kind of database for them, and have a nice simple way of organizing them and allowing my visitors to download / view them, and search / browse for them in an organaized fashion.
   
   I.e. Everytime i add a text file, i want to add it as an entry, with a description of the contents and something like a "click here to download" button, that links to the file.

   Something like the way files are organized on sites like www.download.com but simpler.

   I don't want to make each .txt file entry a "new post" or "new page" in wordpress. i'm really hoping theres a plugin or some type of method to help with what i am talking about.

   Any ideas whatsoever, will be greatly appreciated, even alternative solutions.

   Not sure of the categorization thing, but Lester's WP-DownloadManager does a pretty good job!
