Support » Fixing WordPress » [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Hi please clarify

  • Hi I installed WP-Super cache and seems to work fine. The page sources show the “Dynamic page” generated in xx seconds etc. etc.

Only thing is that if there is no existing .htaccess file in the root then the Settings > WP Super cache plugin > Mod Rewrite rules are showing some error. But it can ADD entries to an existing .htaccess file. So why not be able to CREATE a new .htaccess file automatically if it doesnt exist already?

Also the button is labelled “View Mod Rewrite Rules” I think it is better if itis called “View/Hide Mod Rewrite Rules”.

Also, the description for this plugin led me to believe all my site’s pages will have .html ending after installing this plugin. Apparently not. What should I do to get .html ending in all the pages of my site? Pls help. I have also installed the XML Sitemap plugin and I want the sitemap to include only all html files.

I also found that in my robots.txt this text appears:

    User-agent: *
    Disallow:

    Sitemap: http://www.domain.com/sitemap.xml.gz

<!– Page not cached by WP Super Cache. No closing HTML tag. Check your theme. –>

Of course it should know robots.txt need not be cached! (Or should it?) In any case Why the warning about no closing HTML tag???

    Same problem… anyone?

Jim – edit wp-cache-phase2.php and look for “robots.txt” and insert a mail() or error_log() and log the $_SERVER[ ‘REQUEST_URI’ ]. There’s an explicit check for that file in the uri so it shouldn’t show that message any more.
