• Hi. I tried to search for this question but I only found questions about synchronizing the phpBB3 users and the WordPress users. I’m not looking for that.

I’m wondering if it is possible to install WordPress 2.7 using the overall_header.html and overall_footer.html from phpBB3?

Also… Is it possible to have the WordPress index page at the forum root as “news.php” instead of “blog/index.php”

  • bump – good question.

(… or will BBpress ever be a seamless fit with WP 2.7?)

Anyone who can shed some light on this one?
    Thanks.

Why don’t you just take the HTML from your PHPBB install and create a matching header and footer….

    Or vice versa….

It’s not a hard job, but if you expect someone else to do it for you in the shape of a plugin or script you might be waiting a while…

If you can edit HTML there’s no reason you can’t do it yourself….

Its fairly easy to fake up a fairly look alike header (which is what I did as a work around), it would require both HTML and CSS and it is not going to be exact (depending on your template/theme).

It still would not work the same (for a number of reasons) nor as well as being able to embed WordPress into the real thing.

Its not so easy to impossible to have all the stuff like the search bar to work.

WP-United was a good way to go but seems to have died. I hope WP + BBpress comes of age one day.
