Support » Plugins » [Plugin: Robots Meta] Plugin resetting .htaccess…?

  • Using Robots Meta to handle several issues except the .htaccess, so until recently I hadn’t even tried editing the .htaccess using the plugin was just doing it straight into the file and it looked like the plugin was mirroring whatever I put in. I had created an .htaccess to redirect several old subdomains to the main site and for some reason, my file keeps reverting to the default WP .htaccess and ditching the edits that I made.

The Robots Meta plugin is the only plugin I have that has anything to do with the .htaccess file. I have tried changing it through the plugin option page to see if it would keep it permanently, but to no avail…it just keeps getting reset.

thoughts on this? suggestions? I really need to use Robots Meta, but I also really need the 301 redirects to be permanent. I can’t imagine that the hosting company (mediatemple dV) would be resetting my .htaccess … so my only guess is the Robots Meta plugin.

the only fix i could find was to go in and change the permissions on the .htaccess file to stop the plugin from being able to overwrite at all.
