• I’m confused about the behavior about a plugin I’ve been using called “Addtofacebook.” I noticed it when the icon at the end of each post started showing the “red x” of a missing graphic.

I’m rusty with WordPress behind-the-scenes, real time job keeps me away. The last several upgrades were done by my hosting provider. I noticed the odd behavior after the upgrade to WordPress 2.7.

In my Wp-contents/plugins folder, there is a “addtofacebook” folder. I’ve verified that this file physically exists:

    http://chasingthewind.net/wp-content/plugins/addtofacebook/facebook_share_icon.gif

From the Dashboard/Plugins screen, Addtofacebook does not appear in the list of installed plugins. If I click “add new” and try to install the “Addtofacebook” plugin, I get a message, “Latest Version Installed.”

Oddly, deleting the addtofacebook folder seems to have no effect on the missing icon or whether WordPress thinks Addtofacebook is installed or not.

    What should I try next?
