[Plugin: Twitter Tools] @Replies only partially being excluded (6 posts)

There's a new bug in Twitter Tools (which may have been caused by a possible change in the Twitter API) When the @replies are set to be excluded, it fails to exclude all replies. For some reason the tw_reply_username is not being filled with the respective twitter name, resulting in these tweets not being excluded.

It's a shame, I really needed this feature to work too. =(

I was just going to post the same thing...

I have set Twitter Tools to post all my tweets, but am excluding @reply messages - as these aren't being originated by me, and are not so relevant to my blog.

All was fine until a week or so ago, and I noted that @reply messages were also coming up as blog entries, and entering my RSS feed.

I've tried resetting the option in Settings to Yes a few times - to no avail.

Can anyone shed any light on this? The only thread I can find is one from around 5 months ago, which says the Exclude option works in reverse. I do not find this. Regular tweets are still published on my blog, but I cannot switch off replies.

    Thanks.

There is a difference between "replies" and "mentions" in Twitter.

I'm not talking about mentions, I'm referring to actual @replies that are only sporadically excluded when using Twitter Tools. Apparently the reason this happens is that some @replies are not hooked to the tweet it's replying to, and as a result they get posted. This happens erratically and it seems Twitter can't link tweet threads correctly when it should be. I dunno.

docdelete: there's a workaround for this issue here.

The mod contains coding that will exclude any tweets you have that contain the @ sign. It's an excellent solution for me not only in excluding all types of @reply tweets, but all I have to do is prefix my tweet with a @ whenever I want a tweet to only show up on Twitter and not my site.
