• Hi. Great job on WP 1.5 ! Already upgraded and it’s fine.

I’m using MarsEdit to post via xmlrpc (awesome app BTW and much better than ecto IMHO). Whenever I place a trackback into the application, I keep getting an xmlrpc parsing error :

    XML-RPC reply received: 2005-02-17 08:51:45 -0800
    URL: http://www.withheld!.com/blog/xmlrpc.php
    Method name: metaWeblog.editPost
    Status code: 200
    Succeeded: NO
    --Parse Error--
Parse Error Title: XML-RPC Response Parsing Failed
Parse Error Message: The XML parser could not parse the data.
    Response text:
    <br />
<b>Warning</b>: array_unique(): The argument should be an array in <b>/home/my_home_dir/public_html/blog/wp-includes/functions-post.php</b> on line <b>160</b>

Any ideas ? The post seems to work fine via xmlrpc when I post without the trackback.

Manually entering the trackback into the web interface after uploading via xmlrpc (sans trackback) seems to work as well (though it has no appeared on the 1.5 Changes page yet).

Any ideas ? Searched but didn’t find anything in the support forums here.

    ciao !
    Daryl.

I just noted that the code formatting cut off the end of the function in question. It should be line 160 on functions-post.php

I’m getting the same with both MarsEdit and Ecto.

I’m also finding this and no luck on web or forum searches – any help appreciated!

Same here. I dived into functions-post, and printed the arrays. seems they are fine, type is array, data seems valid. but I’m such a newbie I can’t debug any further…

    trackback from admin page works.

I have also noticed the same behavior. Entering trackbacks to send in MarsEdit doesn’t work, but going back into the WordPress admin and entering them manually afterwards does.

    Have you contacted MarsEdit’s support?

No, not yet. Wanted to see if there were any known WordPress issues that might be causing this first.

It’s not an issue with MarsEdit; the same thing happens in Ecto.

It *appears* to be a WP 1.5 problem; see:
