In that theme, if there are no widgets ‘configured’, it uses the ‘hard coded’ wp_list_pages(), that can be found in the theme’s sidebar.php.

You can manage widgets from sidebar.php of your blogs theme. You need to use page to resolve the concern.
Thanks, I managed to work it out last night after seeing a post from ‘sanjaymenon’. I moved the hard coded php line above the widgetized php line in the sidebar.
