I just upgraded to version 5, but it breaks the search functionality. No matter what I search for, I get a "nothing found" page. Deactivating the plugin solves the problem and the older version that I use on other installations works like a charm.

Dan, the url is in my profile (all of the 'sections' except for "intro" are WP installations), but you can't reproduce anything, since I've disabled the plugin. What do you mean with "what exactly are you searching with"? The sidebar search widget that comes with WP?
Oh and it's probably me, but where are your support forums? When I click on the link I get the page of the plugin. The "issue tracking" gives an internal error, the "fora" link an empty page...
"what exactly are you searching with"
I'm looking to reproduce the issue, so I need the exact terms you were trying to search with. Also, I asked for you blog so I could see if it was a template issue.
What other plugins do you have installed that may interfere?
I deactivated the plugin, so you can't reproduce the issue when we're not online at the same time. The WP install I have upgraded your plugin on is this one. The other installations (articles, bookreviews, musicreviews, news) use the pre-last version of your plugin and they work just fine.
Plugins installed:
AskApache Password Protect 3.5.1
AZIndex 0.6.3
Bad Behavior 2.0.25
Excerpt Editor 1.3
Hotlink Protection 0.1
JS SpamBlock 2.1
Revision Control 1.9.1
Rodney's Search Widget 1.1
Star Rating for Reviews 0.4
WP-ShortStat 1.13c
WP Security Scan 2.3
I use Rodney's Search Widget because it allows me put a title above the search box and I thought that might be the conflicting plugin, but it isn't.
Oh, and any term put in the search box gives the "no results" page, words from post titles, words from post content, names of people who made a comment, it makes no difference, the result is nada.
Did you try deactivating it, the re-activating it? I was having similar problems, tried this, and now it works.
That doesn't do the trick for me, deactivating is the only thing that works...
