My main website (html) is sitting in mydomain.com/public_html/blog and I can’t access it at all from the www. (‘404 not found’). I already have some html pages sitting under public_html and so I used a sub-directory as above to separate wp. Any suggestions please?

Sorry, that first line is a bit confusing!!! I should have said that the wp files are sitting in mydomain.com/public_html/blog and that the other html pages are under public_html !!!

Why not post a link to your site? Are you sure it’s not mydomain.com/blog

I have tried that as well. In fact I have tried a few different combinations to see if I could get in there. I can post an actual link to the website if you want to have a look, but at the moment, you only see an old html website that needs to be trashed!

It doesn’t hurt to post a link…may or may not help. Who is your host?

why when I try to post again in my topic it says topic closed? sorry to post here

    The host is Darkscape.net
They seem pretty good. Mine is a relatively basic package but it has MySql (which I have set up) so should be ok.

Actually I think I have found the problem. The MySQL is not set up properly. So I might end this topic and post at a later stage if I continue to have dramas. Ta Figaro for your interest.
