Blog page is blank
-
Hi Guys
Im using 2.7 and have set up quite a few plug ins, and all pages are working.
Heres the blog
The blog page is empty. Every other page is fine except for the page I want to show as the blog page….which keeps showing up as a blank.
Im a bit non savvy tech wise so any help is appreciated.

Change to the WordPress Default Theme, write a post. Does it appear? The Mimbo theme has quite a bit of logic in the theme’s index.php to deal with featured categories and such, so switching to the WordPress Default Theme takes that code out of play for diagnoses purposes.
Review the ‘static front page options’ in Administration > Settings > Reading.
Hi Michael
Thanks for the help. I changed to the default theme, set the blog page as “blog posts” and its working fine. Ive hidden a page that Im using as my home page so that it doesnt show up in the nav menu in mimbo. That was done after the issue occured. Ive also (since I first posted) edited the sidebar.php to my liking….shockingly easy…I will be able to edit template code if you can direct me to continue to diagnose the issue.
New post shows up fine…. http://socialbuzz.co.uk/29/ in default theme.

So the problem is your theme, agreed?
Check you theme’s index.php for problems, and if necessary download a ‘fresh’ copy of your theme.

Template HierarchyHi Michael
I deleted all the minmbo files from my server and reuploaded a fresh downlaod, but when I click on it as a preview to activiating it, all I see is white space with no theme displayed.

Heres the code from index.php…this might help.
<?php get_header(); ?>
<div id=”content”><div class=”feature clearfloat” id=”lead”>
<?php
// this is where the Lead Story module begins
query_posts(‘showposts=1&cat=3’); ?>
<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
” rel=”bookmark” title=”Permanent Link to <?php the_title(); ?>”><img src=”<?php bloginfo(‘template_url’); ?>/images/<?php
// this is where the Lead Story image gets printed
$values = get_post_custom_values(“Image”); echo $values[0]; ?>” alt=”” id=”leadpic” />
<h3>
<?php
// this is where the name of the Lead Story category gets printed
wp_list_categories(‘include=3&title_li=&style=none’); ?></h3>

<?php
// this is where the title of the Lead Story gets printed
the_title(); ?>
<?php
// this is where the excerpt of the Lead Story gets printed
the_excerpt(); ?>

<?php endwhile; ?>
</div><!–END FEATURE–><div id=”leftcol”>
<?php
// this is where the Features module begins
query_posts(‘showposts=3&cat=4’); ?>

wp_list_categories(‘include=4&title_li=&style=none’); ?></h3>
<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
<div class=”feature”>” rel=”bookmark” title=”Permanent Link to <?php the_title(); ?>”><img src=”<?php bloginfo(‘template_url’); ?>/images/<?php
// this is where the custom field prints images for each Feature
$values = get_post_custom_values(“Image”); echo $values[0]; ?>” alt=”” />” rel=”bookmark” class=”title”>
<?php
// this is where title of the Feature gets printed
the_title(); ?>»</div>
<?php endwhile; ?>
</div><!–END LEFTCOL–><div id=”rightcol”>
<?php
// this is where you enter the IDs of which categories you want to display
$display_categories = array(5,6,7);
foreach ($display_categories as $category) { ?>
<div class=”clearfloat”>
<?php query_posts(“showposts=1&cat=$category”);
$wp_query->is_category = false;
$wp_query->is_archive = false;
$wp_query->is_home = true;
?>
<h3>“><?php
// this is where the name of each category gets printed
single_cat_title(); ?></h3>
<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
<?php
// this grabs the image filename
$values = get_post_custom_values(“Image”);
// this checks to see if an image file exists
if (isset($values[0])) {
?>
” rel=”bookmark” title=”Permanent Link to <?php the_title(); ?>”><img src=”<?php bloginfo(‘template_url’); ?>/images/<?php $values = get_post_custom_values(“Image”); echo $values[0]; ?>” alt=”” />
<?php } ?>
” rel=”bookmark” class=”title”><?php
// this is where title of the article gets printed
the_title(); ?>»
<?php the_excerpt(); ?>
<?php endwhile; ?>
</div>
<?php } ?>
</div><!–END RIGHTCOL–>
</div><!–END CONTENT–><?php get_sidebar(); ?>
<?php get_footer(); ?>Then must be your theme and some plugin combination causing the problem, because I used Mimbo on a test site just the other day.
Hi Michael
Found it! Platinum SEO plugin was the issue.
Thanks for your help and support….I’d never have found this myself.
