Appending “,selected” via php to WP current page

Ok,

So my plan is to have a navigation ul and I’ve got that worked out, what I don’t know how to do is to append the css style “.selected” to the

• element of the current page to make it display the “selected” css state.

Any help? I didn’t know which area of the forum to post since this is both php & css/xhtml
