We’ve been using Feedwordpress for quite a while on an local area aggregator web site, but we’ve also noticed one problem that we can’t understand nor remedy:

Typepad feeds (as well as feeds from certain other sites – such as SB Nation community blogs) provide no feed content besides the feed title. ‘

There seems to be some type of conflict. While everything appears fine on the blog and no visible errors (besides the missing feed content) shows up on the site, every time we update the general site feeds that we have listed, we get the following error message (about 100+ times) on Feedwordpress under every Typepad feed:

Warning: join() [function.join]: Invalid arguments passed in /home/***/tampablab.com/wp-includes/rss.php on line 175

Warning: array_map() [function.array-map]: The first argument, ‘map_attrs’, should be either NULL or a valid callback in /home/***/tampablab.com/wp-includes/rss.php on line 175

I can’t find any reference to this problem anywhere on the web and have tried contacting Radgeek directly about the problem… But I wanted to post it here too to see if anyone has a clue what the problem could be.

    Thanks

PS – this is not a version-of-wordpress specific issue as it’s been problematic under several versions.

no response on the foruma nd no replies from RadGeek when I emailed him about the issues… Would appreciate something or other about this – maybe even an alternative to FeedWordpress.

    Stonegauge,

Support on WordPress.org is TERRIBLE. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve done an internet search and found someone describing the exact same error 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 months ago, with no replies.

I am also interested in an alternative to FeedWordPress, as it doesn’t appear to be supported well or very stable.

Yeah, I know the support forum is not necessarily going to get me an answer. In fact I’m more likely to find resolutions to my problems using Google than using search on WordPress’ forums. That goes for trying to find plugins too (note that WP-powers-that-be, the search feature ON WORDPRESS.ORG sucks)

I still try to get things done on here. Sometimes posting is the only way to wake-up to the realization what’s wrong (you try to put off posting as long as you can until you figure out what went wrong in the first place).

There had been several plugins I had seen for syndicating feeds… just not sure if they are around any more. I’ll let you know what I find.

BTW, a google search brought up this post that shows several different plugins that are devoted to RSS Aggregation / syndicaiton. While FeedWordpress is at the top of the list, several alternatives are listed.

Got here by google search as well, but found a solution (for the bundled RSS export module at least).

Just edit one line in wp-includes/rss.php as outlined in my blog post “Fix for error in WordPress rss feed module”, or wait for Worpress Trac, issue #9225 to be fixed.

jsix — what does that have to do with Feedwordpress? Could you please clarify? Because you’re talking general-RSS (so it seems) and we’re talking plugin issues.
