If I overlooked the resolution to this question, I apologize, but to the point. Whenever I attempt to conduct a spell check in 2.3.1 I receive this error: "Could Not Execute AJAX call, server didn't return valid XML.
Response: <br/>
<b>Fatal Error</b>: Call to undefined function: mb_substr() in" and under that is a lot of /'s and stuff.

I just got similar error. TinyGoogleSpell.class.php on line 93
This occurs in IE7. No issue using Firefox.
