  • Did you use an automated upgrade? (fantastico?)
Not all files have been upgraded.

ok well PowWeb did something becase now my dashboard shows that it is version 2.2 but everything is still in the old 2.0.2 style the log in screen the dashboard, when i write a post I dont have the tag option etc…
what file would that be that i need to replace on the server? or what suggestions does anyone have?

2.2 doesn’t have tags built in. That got pushed back to 2.3.

As far as the rest, 2.0.2 and 2.2 look pretty similar anyway. It’s not a radical redesign or anything.

well at work we are using 2.2 and the admin screen is Blue
mine is white just like the old version. isnt that a difference with the upgrade?

and at work in the write a post section under the content box there is tag section a Tag Suggestions (Courtesy of Tagyu) section a photo upload, trackbacks, custom fields. are there different wordpress styles to download?

No… while the dashboard has changed in functionality and such, the top of it is blue all the way from 2.0 up to now.

I just checked the archives, the wp-admin.css file has had the #wphead section have a background color of #14568a for all of 2.0.

Anyway, if you think files didn’t get changed, then upload them to your site yourself. Download a copy of 2.2 and FTP them to your server.

i guess ill look and compare the files.
I just currious as to why the v 2.2 at work has so many more features and looks different the the v2.2 i use at home.

at home the log in screen is just a simple white box. but at work its a solid blue box

The login screen is a blue box. Has been for ages. If it’s not, then you’re missing files or your settings are incorrect somehow.

hmm ok well I dont want to loose all my posts by uninstalling everything and starting from scratch.

Is there a specific file or setting that I can check as a comon one as to what the issue might be?

The posts and such are in the database, not in the wordpress files. Just replace the WordPress files on your server with fresh copies from the WordPress download ZIP. You can safely replace everything in wp-admin and wp-includes and that’s probably all you’ll have to replace.

Keep a backup of your existing files, of course.
