• Hi all,

I tried to search for this but only found info on how to build a flash splash page, and that is not what I am after…

What I would like to do is have the default load page of my WP site be a regular “page” that I create and edit the content of. Then have one of the other pages on the site house the blog itself. I am sorry if this is unclear as I don’t know the proper terminology to use here. My goal in short is to have the first page the loads on my site be a description of the site, then have a different page in the site house the blog. You would have to click a link to goto the blog.

Thanks for the help in advance.

  • Hi Xephius,

If your using WP2.7 you can go to the Settings -> Reading page and select a static homepage from there.

I have just done this with my own site and i think you might run into the same problem I have where once a static homepage is set I am unable to create a “News” page that lists all the posts.

I’ve created a post here that you might find usuful if i get a reply 🙂
