[Plugin: eShop] Different shipping codes for each product option? (16 posts)

I'm selling books using eShop 2.12.5. I've set up a separate product for both the digital/pdf download and the physical copy so that I can set the digital version for free shipping.

However, it would be easier for the customers (and me, too) if I could set the shipping rate code for each option, instead of for the entire product.

So, I could have "Book Name #1", with options a) digital download with shipping rate F, and b) physical copy with shipping rate A. The customer could then use the drop-down list to decide on the version they'd like to purchase.

Is this something I could set with a hack? Or, is there a chance that this could be implemented in a future version of eShop?

Many thanks for the excellent plugin!

arrgghh. Blindingly obvious thing which I should have thought of.

I'll look at a way of making the download options default to free shipping and override the shipping rate set.

It might take a while to do though, but it is now on my TODO list.

coded and will be in the next release.

all downloads will now default to free shipping in the cart itself.

For the site I'm working on (for a record label), I need to sell both an MP3 download of an album (with no shipping), and then a physical CD that includes an MP3 download (shipping option A).

What would be best/most flexible would be the ability to set shipping rates separately for each variation, rather than globally defaulting to free shipping for downloads.

Thanks for your hard work on this great plugin!

You'll need to double check this but try setting the shipping to option A, and add the mp3 to the cart. It should incur no shipping charge.

Now as to adding a shipping class per option - not possible at this time, sorry.

Is there a way to change the form of shipping calculation?

Eshop has a few options, but I want the rates of shipping to be relative to the price of the product like the following:

    Up to $15.00 $5.00
    $15.01 - $25.00 $6.00
    $25.01 - $45.00 $8.00
    $45.01 - $65.00 $11.00
    $65.01 - $90.00 $14.00
    $90.01 - $125.00 $17.00
    $125.01 - $200.00 $21.00

I don't want the rates to be relative to zones. Maybe this is obvious, but I don't quite understand the shipping format.

Thanks for your work. It's a great plugin, simple to use.

    Thanks anyway.

One more question: where in the eshop files can i delete classes C thru E...

All I want is a table with classes A and B...

I'm trying to use eShop to sell products that have a physical version AND a downloadable version as a physical/downloadable package. This is so that the customer can have instant access to the product and get the hard copy in the mail a few days later. Since you've hard-coded downloadable products to have no shipping, I don't see any way to do this anymore. I could include shipping in the product price, but my return policy is to refund the purchase price less shipping and handling. If the shipping and handling charges are rolled up in the product price, then it's hard (impossible) to exclude those charges from any refunds requested. Any thoughts on how to accomplish this?

surely they would be sold as just one item though?

I try to use eShop to sell reservations for appartment rentals for a week.
There are no shipping rates of course.

    1 question :
I try to choose "No shipping rates" for products but, when I save, the F shipping rate is always selected. Is there any reason for that?

    Thanks
