   Hey,
   Has anyone else had this problem - very recently (really, since upgrading to 2.7, I believe), my pingback and/or trackback spam in comments has increased dramatically. I run SpamKarma and Akismet, and have them set very harsh ... as of the last week, it's been fine, and I seldom deal with ANY comment spam of any type ... but over the last few days, it's as if both SK2 and Akismet just stopped working or something.

   I've made sure all my plugins are up-to-date, and I've de-activated, and re-activated them. My Akismet key is valid - dunno what else to do?

   It's weird - it's like something just turned off. The bulk of it is drug spam.

   Spammers get trickier and learn ways around spam filters. I doubt anything has just "turned off" so to speak. Is the majority of your spam coming from the same IP? If so, add that IP to your blacklist

   Try adding Bad Behaviour to your arsenal. It will block many bots based on various criteria such as User-Agents.
