    No idea, if you didn't get any error message, have a look for permission

    over here also no error but neither thumbnails showing up. Also no files in the thumbdir after several times made over new thumbnails.
    Checked permissions, chmod the whole dirtree tot 777 but nothing seems to help.

    Installed the plugin this morning from a fresh download.

    I also have the same problem: i get no error, but also no thumbnails; i do get a thumbs folder.

    I have different installations: the one that is giving troubles is one that has been updated from earlier versions of WP and NGG; a fresh installation (WP 2.7 and NGG 1.0.2) doesn't give me any trouble.

    Any idea?

    Every plugin requires more memory, maybe you use smaller images, maybe with your other blog you are hard at the limit, so it work's could work...

    @ Alex,

    I fixed my problem by deactivating another plugin (Mollom) i recently installed (almost at the same time as the new versions of WP and NGG) and everything is working properly again.

    Thanks for the three links you provided; i learned a lot by reading those posts.

    I'm having the same problem as well. I had no problems until I updated to 2.7 and 1.0.2. Thumbnails pics aren't loading, but when you click on the tb larger image does load.

    Hello I am also having problems with my thumbnails not being created as well. Then when you clock the thumbnails the pictures themselves don't even load as well, the loading bar just keeps going and nothing happens. You can see for yourself here. Most of the images are very small, and are under 100 kb in size.

    All,

    Success! I found the solution for my site and setup. It is something small.

    In my case all galleries for NextGen were located in wordpress/wp-content/uploads/gallery.

    After upgrading somehowe NextGen thinks that the path for the gallery is wordpress/wp-content/gallery. In the general settings of NextGen this is easily fixed!

    I myself did it the long way by moving the galleries and adjusting the location under manage gallery. This should work a lot quicker.

    Success all
    Ole

    Does anyone have any idea on what my problem could be? I have checked with my site that works with next gen and the server and graphic setting are pretty similar. It doesn't make sense why it wont work.

    I'm adding the NextGen plugin to a friend's site who wants 'subscribers' to be able to upload their own pictures to his blog. However, when a subscriber uploads an image, a thumbnail is NOT created, and the user sees the message that they don't have permission. An administrator can upload an image and get a thumbnail created, no problem. This is not a 1&1 site, nor do I think it's a memory issue...

    @lucylovesbiz,
    this is just a permissions/rights setting under the admin of ngg look in admin under gallery->roles.

    @all check for php version, if possible (shared hosting) try switch to php5 via .htaccess

    AddType x-mapp-php5 .php
    AddHandler x-mapp-php5 .php

    this might help sometimes.

    best regards
    bee

    I'm having the same issues... When I try to create thumbnails, I get no error, but no thumbnails, either. There's no content showing on my "Gallery" page... http://proroofingllc.com/template/?page_id=3

    I also tried creating the thumbnails separately and uploading them into the "Thumbs" folder via FTP. They show up in the folder in my FTP program, but they don't show up in the "Manage Gallery" viewer.

    I'm using WordPress 2.7.1, and NextGen 1.3.1, and hosting with ICDSoft. Here are my server settings:

    * Operating System : Linux
    * Server : Apache
    * Memory usage : 10.84 MByte
    * MYSQL Version : 5.0.67-msl-usrs-icd1-log
    * SQL Mode : Not set
    * PHP Version : 5.2.9
    * PHP Safe Mode : Off
    * PHP Allow URL fopen : On
    * PHP Memory Limit : 200M
    * PHP Max Upload Size : 20M
    * PHP Max Post Size : 20M
    * PHP Max Script Execute Time : 120s
    * PHP Exif support : Yes ( V1.4 )
    * PHP IPTC support : Yes
    * PHP XML support : Yes

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Well, upgrading to NextGen 1.3.2 helped the thumbnail creation problem; I can now create and edit my thumbnails from the "Manage Gallery" page.

    However, the gallery is still not showing up on the correct page on my site, even after clearing my browser cache after the update as recommended. I have the "Page Link To" option in "Manage Gallery" set to the correct page.
    http://proroofingllc.com/template/?page_id=3

    I checked the page in both Firefox and Safari (working on a Mac), but still got nothing on the gallery page.

    I realize this is now a different topic, so I'll do more searching in the forum. Thanks!

    I have installed NextGen 1.3.5 on a fresh install of WP 2.8.4. Everything appears to be working except for the thumbnail creation and editing.

    I had to manually create the gallery's folder and its thumbs subfolder. I CHMODded them both to 777. Uploading an image from Add Gallery / Images works to the extent that the image gets uploaded and stored in the gallery's folder. I don't get any error messages on the screen nor in the server log, but no thumbnail is created. My test image is 240x180 pixels.

    NextGen reports the following for my setup:

    Server Settings
    ----------------
    Operating System : Linux
    Server : Apache
    Memory usage : 1.23 MByte
    MYSQL Version : 5.0.45
    SQL Mode : Not set
    PHP Version : 5.1.6
    PHP Safe Mode : On
    PHP Allow URL fopen : Off
    PHP Memory Limit : 100M
    PHP Max Upload Size : 2M
    PHP Max Post Size : 8M
    PHP Max Script Execute Time : 30s
    PHP Exif support : Yes ( V1.4 )
    PHP IPTC support : Yes
    PHP XML support : Yes

    Graphic Library
    ----------------
    GD Version : bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
    FreeType Support : Yes
    FreeType Linkage : with freetype
    T1Lib Support : No
    GIF Read Support : Yes
    GIF Create Support : Yes
    JPG Support : Yes
    PNG Support : Yes
    WBMP Support : Yes
    XPM Support : No
    XBM Support : Yes
    JIS-mapped Japanese Font Support : No

    Any ideas?

    I am embarrassed to report that, in my case, when I downloaded the .zip file for this plug-in, I did not right click on it and "unblock" it. Windows security prevented the unzip process from extracting any of the javascript files (.js), so what I FTP'd to the server was not a complete installation. After correcting this (uploading all files), and disabling Safe Mode, thumbnails are working.

    HTH!
