Recently I encountered a problem with the Akismet plugin in WordPress 2.6.5. The plugin smees to work correctly. The only problem is that I get the following error on my dashbard:

Warning: sprintf() [function.sprintf]: Too few arguments in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/harmonieoefening.nl/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/akismet/akismet.php on line 727

Does anyone know what the problem is and how I could resolve it?

    Thanks in advance.

  • That is the function used to show the akismet stats – not sure why this would be a problem. The only time I have seen this error is/was a bug when creating new pages under certain circumstances.
Maybe delete the plugin and re-install manually?

I already tried re-installing the plugin, but that didn’t solve the problem. The strange thing is that the error wasn’t there yet when I updated to the latest version.

But I will try to install the plugin again. Maybe this time it will work. Thanks for the quick response.

Just so you know. The error I had disappeared when I uploaded an older .mo file for translation. nl_NL.mo for WordPress version 2.6.3 doesn’t seems to work with the newest Akismet version.

Thanks a lot hvanoers for finding a workaround. This has been bugging me for months. But the real fix of course is to update nl_NL.mo. I have submitted a request for this.
