my RSS feed is gone after upgrading to version 2.7

    hi all,

    after i upgraded to 2.7, my wordpress RSS, which used to be here http://gemismyname.com/feed/ is not showing things anymore. (But the comments feed is working okay.)

    http://gemismyname.com/feed/ now only says

    Index of /feed

    i didn’t notice it because when i upgrade, i don’t really do anything, i just unzip the ZIP file, and drag the ones required to Filezilla’s folder. i then logged in wp-admin and clicked the upgrade database button, like i always did. and after i logged into the Dashboard, everything seemed to be normal.

    i had no reason to suspect that there’s something wrong with the RSS, until someone told me earlier she hasn’t been able to see new posts since a few days ago.

    i didn’t change any settings in the text files or anything. i also re-uploaded wordpress 2.7 files thinking maybe i didn’t upgrade completely last time, but still the same thing. could anyone please help me?

    Have you added any posts after you’ve upgraded to 2.7?

    Which version of WP did you upgrad from?

    And have you changed your structure of permalinks?

    1. nope i haven’t added new posts after i upgraded to 2.7. but i have scheduled posts i posted weeks before i upgraded, and they’re showing up fine in the blog, but my rss feed is now just the stuff i pasted above, no content.

    2. i upgraded from the last regular version of WordPress, 2.6.something.

    3. i changed the permalink structure from the default to the “post title” as permalink a long time ago, when i first installed WordPress.

    i didn’t make any changes right before upgrading to 2.7, or after 2.7.

    This is what I did to fix this problem…

    1. Open wp-config.php
    2. Remove any spaces after “?>” at the very end of the document.

    For some reason that worked for me. It took some time for Feed Burner to register the change, but the FireFox RSS reader registered the change instantly.

    hi, i tried that. i removed all spaces after “?>” but http://gemismyname.com/feed/ still isn’t showing any content, just the “Index of /feed” stuff i pasted above.

    ok i fixed it already, i turned Feedsmith plugin on and off and on and off and on and off the way I do mechanical gadgets that don’t work. after 3 tries, my feed is active again. i don’t know if this is a permanent fix though.

    But for now, my feed’s working again, the “Index of /feed” error is gone for now.

    Feedburner takes a few hours to re-sync once your blog has gone wonky. 🙂
