• Hello all,

I’m rather new to Word press and I am having trouble setting my comments up so that everyone may post, not just registered users. I have opened up comments in the “discussion” section and also under the “general” tab. This has enabled the form to show up, however, when I go to test the form. I enter all of the info it asks for. IE:

    Name

    Mail (will not be published)

    Website

However, when I hit the submit button I receive this message:

Error: Please press the back button and fill the required field for spam protection.

Any ideas? Could it be one of my plug-ins is interfering with its ability to work properly? Or am I missing a key step somewhere? Blog where I want to open up comments is http://www.throughyourbody.com/blog/2008/12/obama_warren/#comments

Thank you in advance for all of your help. I certainly appreciate it.

  • I don’t know if you have been able to fix your visitor comment problem yet or not, I don’t see any responses.

I had the same dilemma and would receive the “Error: Please press the back button and fill the required field for spam protection.” I found out that it was one of my plugins that was the problem. After I deactivated it, my blog worked fine. The plugin I had the problem with is: Math Comment Spam Protection. If you are using that one, try deactivating it.

    Hope this is helpful,

Let me know if you got your visitor comments to work.
