    http://www.twilightartistry.com/wordpress

but I can’t access my admin page. When I put in my username and password, all it does is reset the username and password fields, but doesnt enter any admin page. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice already! Please help!!!

  • I have 3 wp blogs on Go Daddy but installed manually as I never really trust those “1 click installers”.

What I would do if it was my site. I’d download a new 2.7 zipped file from WordPress.org and expand it into a folder named “wordpress” on your computer. Then I’d ftp into your site and download the wp-config.php file that is in the wordpress folder so you know what your database connection info is. Then I’d use the ftp to upload the new 2.7 wordpress folder that is on your computer. This will over-write any old files and add any new ones needed. Then upload the wp-config.php file into the “wordpress” folder. The old one may still be there but this insures you have the correct one there. Once that is done, use your browser to go to http://www.twilightartistry.com/wordpress/wp-admin/upgrade.php. After this upgrades the database you should be good to go.

You may have some issues with the image uploader in 2.7 so respond and I’ll tell you about creating the .htaccess file you will need to add.

    berko1021,

did you ask for a windows based server? You have one, and if you really want godaddy to play nice w/ wordpresss you need to switch to Godaddy’s Linux plan.

I see you have more stuff on that domain .. in the event youre not in a position to switch to Linux, you might inquire to godaddy about creating a subdomain space for you on a Linux server, and than you could have the blog, at blog.twilight….com and it would work.

Thanks. I actually do have a windows server because I have some ASP on my site. I will look into creating a subdomain on a linux server.. thanks for your help.

I am having the same issues. Berko did you FTP in the phole zip file or just the admin stuff? It shounds like we are both missing the same piece of information.

JPXer, and you are ALSO using the windows plan on godaddy.

Hey, Whoo… If I don’t get the chance later…. Happy Holidays!

p.s. ‘yall. Linux good. Windows… ummm… less good.

    🙂

you too Clayton!! Merry Christmas, and heres looking for a better year next year than last!

I am having this problem. I’ve have started a topic but I have not had any responses.

I user GoDaddy (and have the Linux hosting) and installed WordPress on my main site – thunderchld.com and it works fine. I made a subdomain, and installed wordpress through their installed, and it worked fine for about a day. Then I got the issue of not being able to log in to the admin page. I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled manually, reinstalled via godaddy, renamed the plugin folder, and nothing has worked. I’ve tried this suggestion – going straight to the upgrade.php page, but I do not need to upgrade.

    Any suggestions?
