So I set up the MySQL database, I plugged in all the variables to wp-config.php, and I uploaded it all to my root directory. I go to the page (http://debatedotcom.com/wp-admin/install.php), and it's not there. I think to myself, "Oh, that's because no such folder exists." So I go to http://debatedotcom.com/install.php, and I see that error message.
As can be seen, I am totally confused. Halp plz.

you see THAT message for the reason you already alluded to.
the files arent where they belong.
you need to upload the files, maintaining the structure that is inside the zip file. that means that the files that are inside wp-admin after you have unzipped the zip -- need to be inside wp-admin on the server.
you cant just put them any ole place.

Well isn't that the weirdest thing...
When I open up the .zip file with WinZip, there are no folders. Odd...
In that case, can anyone suggest a free .zip opener that doesn't destroy folders?
