   The "upload zipped plugins" functionality appears to be included in WordPress 2.7. In the Plugins menu, there is an "Add New" submenu where you have the option to "Install a plugin in .zip format". I successfully used this to install the Blubrry Powerpress Podcasting Plugin.

   Should this be noted in the plugin's description? It's difficult to tell sometimes when functionality provided by a plugin is already present in a new version of WordPress.

   Well give them a chance, maybe they'll change/add functionality of the plugin. In the meantime I suppose you could email the plugin author to let them know in case they don't already.
