    Hi,

This problem started last night. I noticed I couldn’t get into my control panel. The page wasn’t centered as usual, and came up with the message that browser needed cookies. I have another wordpress site on the same hosting package that I can get into OK.

When I view the site in IE and Firefox, the page is again not centered and there are slight differences in the layout. AVG pops up to say it’s detected framer virus.

I know I don’t have the latest version of wordpress installed, and plan on doing that tonight. My question is, will a clean install of the wordpress files and running of the config file solve this, or is it likely to be a database infection?

If it’s a database problem, how can I back it up, deal with the virus and re-install it?

    Many thanks!

  • How do you know that you your server is infected with framer virus?
How do you check it? You mentioned AVG virus; how the heck do you run AVG on your server?

It’s what AVG says when I’m trying to access the site from pc’s connected to the internet that have AVG installed. It’s not just this PC, and it doesn’t happen to my other wordpress site hosted by the same company so I asssume the site has been hacked.
