• Hi, I’m currently usind wordpress 2.7 and I also have an old blog (not updated for ages) built using b2evolution 1.9.3, which I want to delete permanently. I was wondering if there’s how to import the old posts from the old blog into my new wordpress blog. Is there a way to do it?

Note that my wordpress blog already has many posts and all I want to do is to import the old posts from b2evolution into my wordpress blog. in order to add content to the site.

  • See Importing Content on the WordPress Codex, the online manual for WordPress users. It has the instructions and guides you need, but most of this is automatic now. Just go to Import on your Tools Panel.

there isn’t such tool to import from b2evolution.

I have migrated b2evolution blog to wordpress. I used a script.
What it does is selecting the contents of tables related to b2evolution and inserting them to wordpress.
    Some helpful notes are here

I have a b2evolution 2.47 installation comprising 3 blogs – blog 1 Words, blog2 Images and Blog3 Links I would like to import these into the latest WordPress.

How do I do this by importing from the b2 evolution database?

The RSS importer allows you to extract posts from an RSS 2.0 file into your blog to import your posts from a system that is not handled by a custom import tool. How does the RSS import function work with images?

How does WordPress handle the postings from blogs 1,2,and 3. I would like to maintain existing link structure.

    my Site has evolved into
    http://www.mydomain.com
    http://www.mydomain.com/WordPress blog
    http://www.mydomain.com/B2evo/ blog1.php,blog2php,blog3.php

would it be best to create 3 new folders called blog1.php, blog2.php, blog3.php with 3 new wordpress blogs?

I am wanting to move the entire site – and it just seems to me that it would a LOT easier if I migrated out of B2evo before the move.

The Importing Content on the WordPress Codex, the online manual for WordPress users seems to be dated at 2006. I see from the above posting that there is a migration script for sale – but there is no feed back !

I would really appreciate advise from those in the know on how best to do this – I am sure it must be ‘doable’ but un sure just what is the best way and how to retain existing permalinks is a priority.

    Well experiment I did

Something that seemed so difficult was really so easy – the RSS importer worked like a charm – absolutely brilliant – thanks WordPress – you rock !
