wordpress.com stats wont work anymore

    I had installed the plugin on of my blogs and then had to remove it for some reason. Now im trying to reinstall the plugin but it says “missing API key” and does not install. what could be the problem??

    Please help – this is a great plugin..

    Do you have an API key ?
    Did you put it in the right place after re-install ?

    yes.Now it says missing api key.

    Several people have mentioned this issue on various sites/forums (like on here, and on WP-Testers email list, and on WordPress.com forum).

    I’ve also experienced the problem on just-one of my new blogs after upgrading to WP 2.7.

    The problem is a circular loop. You enter the IP key and it asks if you want to “Add” this to existing wordpress account. I say yes, and it shows again the same error message “Missing API Key”. (I know my key is working, it works on my other blogs).

    One answer I heard is to make sure your footer calls wp_footer. But I checked and I already had that, but still having the issue on the 1 site.
