Typepad images not showing in blog

I just imported my typepad posts into wordpress. Oddly, the photos show up on the edit page, but, even when I re-save, they don’t show up on the blog. They do have the old typepad urls. Like:

Someone suggested doing a search and replace on the old urls – I can do that on the text file and re-upload all the posts. But what do I use for the new url to replace the old one?

Can I really just replace the old url and this will upload the photos to wordpress? That would be thrilling – I was thinking I’d have to reload all the photos from 527 posts…
