changing mysite.com/wordpress to mysite.com

my file tree looks like this

root > wordpress

I can’t figure out how to make it work as my standard site. when I visit mysite.com/wordpress I see the blog but I need it to show when i visit mysite.com – how do I do that? I tried moving all the files to the root folder, but it doesn’t work
