Call to undefined function wp_remote_request()? (5 posts)

    Hello,

While I was just about to finish installing Wordpress 2.7, I pressed the "Continue" button and got a fatal PHP error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_remote_request() in .../blog/wp-includes/update.php

I went to my blog's front page, and got the same error.

Is anybody else having this problem, or is it just me? What can I do to fix this?

    Thanks.

    John,

Try manually disabling plugins you had active. In my case, I had to rename google-sitemap-generator. Renaming it with a underscore (_) or an x or something at the beginning should do the trick. After the upgrade, I immediately named it back, and all was well -- plugin still active and everything.

    Hope this helps someone.

Once again, we are playing "find the answer" ... there are several threads for folks who have this problem, myself includes. I've tried the solutions (all plugins already disabled) and I've uploaded the files a second time.

    Same problem.

Anyone have a solution OTHER than to do a search for the colution?
