  • I upgraded to 2.7 2 days back after taking back up. After installing 2.7 when i found everything was ok i deleted the back up. Now when i tried to post there are a few problems
    1. wordpress is incredibly slow
    2. I cannot switch between html and view. I dont know what is selected by default. Clicking on both dose no effect.
    3. When i click preview the same page where i have to add post is shown up without any content and not the page on the template with the contents.
    4. My plugins like platinum Seo and all in one SEO(Only one activated at a time) fail to work properly. Only their heading is shown. I cannot access and tables.
    5. I had upgraded for 2.6.3 to 2.7 by deleting admin and include folder.

    Please help

  • Try reuploading and reupgrading WordPress manually (not auto-upgrade) using the detailed instructions:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended

First, don’t delete any backups for weeks, maybe months, “just in case” the just in case happens. 😀

There are reports of WordPress being slow across the forum. Please check those for the answers, and install Google Gears to help speed things up.

Check the Plugin author’s site for updates and consider working without them until you have the rest of the problems resolved.

Check your Settings to see what you have set as your default post view and change it and save it and see if that makes any difference. You will probably have to refresh the page and maybe clear the browser cache to see the change.

Are you using FireFox or Internet Explorer? There are known issues with IE so consider trying FireFox to see if there is a difference.

Did you delete and replace the files in your root directory, too? That might be a part of the problem, but I doubt it.

I did it as it was mentioned in the link at start.
i tried deleting and replacing from root directory.
    I am using firefox.
I can preview the post after it is published. But not before that. If i try to preview before publishing then the add post page comes.
I have disabled all plugins. I am able to post now. but i do not know in which html or visual i am working on as clicking on both tabs makes no visual difference.
I can publish posts. But i cannot use any plugins.
    I am totally clueless.

I am fed up. please guide me to some link where i can download word press 2.6.3 or 2.6.5. Is any archieves available? i cant find it out by googling

You can find that setting on you profile, right after the howdy at the top right corner.

You can find the 2.6.3 or 2.6.5 here at wp.org.

great. Now i am facing the same problems again. I deleted the wp-admin and wp-includes fully. except the content folder i replaced everything. Now there is no PREVIEW button at all. I used 2.6.5 might as well check 2.6.3 as well

But all i can see is modifications i can do about myself and colour. Nothing about the settings crap

The same thing happened to me when I didn’t have a plugin activated but the code was in the sidebar for it anyway. It messed the while dashboard up. Once I found out which plugin was not actived, I activated it and BOOM everything was back to normal. This sounds like what you are going through. Find out which plugin is in the sidbar or wherever and activate, it might help.
    Thanks,
    Kevin
