    Hello everyone,

i used to have my wp blog in a directory while still in the root and recently i decided to move it back to the root.

Everthing is fine except that all my images are broken since they still have the old permalink. I am totally lost here since i am talking about hundreds of images!

I thought that updating the permalinks would fix this but while the images are there i need to find a way to remove the /wp/ of the attachments link structure ( thumbnails etc) . Is this possible ?

    Please let me know!

  • If the images were upload via the admin area Media Manager you could try copying the upload folder from the directory to the root. This should put your images where they will be found.

the upload folder will be in:

    /yoursubfolder/wp-content/uploads

You should be able to do this with your FTP client or you can download and re-upload the images.

Duh, how come i didnt think of it ? 😛 lol Anyway i moved it back to the directory cause it seemed like the only solution and i think i will leave it there for a while .

Thanks for the suggestion, will do next time i decide to make a silly change again.
