Menu slide-out is slow

    The new menu has sub-lists that slide out. But the animation is so slow I’m lucky if I see even a single frame of it!

    Similar effects on other websites which run as fast as can be, so what’s wrong with my site? There’s a similar problem with Highslide’s visual effect that I’ve (ahem) never really thought hard about enough to look into.

    I’m self-hosting.
